# Read a proposed Invisalign course and its service scope

Treatment terms and planning

Reading three: proposed care and services

A planning document, a proposed course of care and a service statement can sit beside one another. Read how they connect rather than making one stand in for the others.

Read the explanation, follow the example, then bring your own priorities to the discussion.

## A plan can be discussed and revised

Align describes clinician modifications to ClinCheck plans.

Here, 'course' simply means the care being proposed for an individual. It is not the name of a manufacturer package. The useful reading has two parts: identify the planning document and its status, then read what the clinic's own statement actually says about services.

## Worked reading: a proposal with separate document and service lines

Fictional example. This proposal belongs to no real patient or practice.

**Fictional proposed\-care statement**

| Part of the document | What the example states |
| --- | --- |
| Approach discussed | Invisalign treatment. |
| Goals | Individual goals remain for the clinical conversation. |
| Planning document | ClinCheck document A, for clinician review and discussion. |
| Proposed course | The aligner course is to be described after that review; no aligner order is confirmed in this statement. |
| Statement S: included service | A discussion to explain the named planning document and review the person's questions. |
| Statement S: separate arrangements | Retention is separate. Aligner treatment, clinical follow\-up and additional aligner orders require their own written service confirmation. |

## Then a later note introduces document B

The fictional follow\-up note says: 'Document B has been prepared for clinician review. It replaces document A for the next discussion. Statement S has not been updated.'

This note tells the reader which document the next discussion will use. It does not say the review is complete, that aligners have been ordered or that the service statement now includes something different.

The included discussion in Statement S is clear. Its separate\-arrangements line still calls for written confirmation of treatment, clinical follow\-up or additional orders. Document B changes the planning reference; it does not supply that separate confirmation.

## Keep the document update and the service question separate

A practical reply would be: 'I will use document B for our discussion. Please connect the outcome of that review to the proposed aligner course and the current service statement.' You are asking for a connected explanation, not choosing a software version or changing your appliance instructions.

With your own documents, use the names and status supplied by your treating team. A newer file name alone should not be your instruction to start, stop or switch anything.

**Filled reading of the two fictional documents**

| What you are reading | What it establishes | What it leaves open |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Proposal plus later note | Document B is the reference for the next discussion; review remains pending. | The individual explanation after review and the actual aligner\-course description. |
| Order wording | The proposal confirms no aligner order, and the later note adds none. | Whether an order is subsequently confirmed by the team. |
| Service wording | The included discussion and question review remain in Statement S; the later note does not change that statement. | Whether aligner treatment, clinical follow\-up or additional orders are confirmed in another written statement. |

## Use the estimate guide for the financial reading

This chapter follows a planning reference through two fictional messages. For an actual estimate's included, separate or unconfirmed items, use the existing estimate guide. It provides that worksheet without treating a manufacturer name as a clinic service agreement.
